Luis & Nancy's Fun Engagement Session!

Well, in just about a month from now, Nancy and Luis will be tying the knot! We had such a great time doing their engagement photos. Nancy and Luis are having a Vegas-themed wedding, which they thought would be great for all of their out-of-town guests coming in. They have a bunch of Vegas surprises in store! Nancy thought it would be perfect to have a photo shoot at the Neon Boneyard to add some Vegas style to their portraits. For a completely different feel, we went up to the State Park for Round II of their e-session! Here's a peek at their Las Vegas engagement session!

Quick Baby Update

Terrence and I went for our appointment today to see our midwife. I was happy to hear that I am already 2cm dialated, 60% efaced, and the baby's head is +1 at the public bone. Little Arielle is in position - it's just a matter of how much longer now. Jill, our midwife, didn't think I was going to make it to my due date of October 17. She thinks I have at the most two more weeks before Arielle makes her appearance. How exciting!

Congrats to Amber and Joe - one of the sweetest couples ever!

What a beautiful wedding Joe and Amber had - so full of emotion, excitement and amazing detail! Amber first called me after she received a post card from us in the mail. She said she really liked our style of work and wasn't too eager to use the photographer her venue was providing. I'm so glad she hired me - I had a lot of fun photographing their special day. Amber and Joe, you two are truly a fun-loving couple and I love your love story. I wish you all the best in your marriage. xoxo -Suzi

Worry when they're quiet!

Well, I have three topics I'd like to write about. First is my son - the little trash-digger. The day before yesterday, my husband went out and brought Burger King home for lunch. He didn't finish all of his oreo shake, and I tossed it in the trash next to my computer. Lately, we have already been witnessing Isaiah placing items in the trash can and digging them back out again, but I didn't expect to find him quietly sitting behind me with the remaining contents of the oreo shake all across his face, arms, hands - well, let's just say he was covered from head to toe, and our beautiful carpet, which I had just recently had professionally cleaned, was covered in rich dark chocolate. Perfect. And, because I had to pick up Isaiah and carry him off to the bathroom, I, too, am now covered in lovely chocolate. Again, perfect.

Next on my list is just a little promotion for Vegas Cafe Mexican Restaurant, located in the Tenya Village shopping center. After craving Mexican food to the max yesterday, we decided to go and check the place out. The food was great and the customer service was the best we've ever had, almost bordering annoying - they were just so stinkin' good and always on point. Now, if you love good, authentic Mexican food like I do, this place is definitely worth giving a shot. I'm not much for Americanized Mexican food - I like the real deal. I would have never tried the place out, just because the name of the place sounded too American for my liking, but Terrence had accidentally picked up their take-out menu one day, and we just so happened to read about how all of their food is authentically home-made. Yeah, they reeled me in with that one. The horchata was great, too! Next time we'll have to have the fried ice-cream.

And on to my final topic for discussion - I actually did something fun last night. Not that I don't enjoy sitting at my computer for 16 hours a day, editing photos and designing books for clients, but I must say it's nice to go out once in a while. One of my brides, Cathi, invited me out to the Pallazo's grand opening of their new restaurant and nightclub, Lavo. Almost into my ninth month of pregnancy, I figured, "Sure, why not?" We had fun. Since we carpooled, it gave us a change to catch up on some of her wedding plans and just have some nice girl talk. Thanks for a great time, Cathi!

Crazy Day!

What a nightmare it was to be awoken by my 13.5-month-old son screaming his poor little head off at 6:45 a.m. this morning. I jumped out of bed, with my big preggy belly and rushed into his room! He was sitting on the floor scared out of his mind and crying! He had fallen out of his crib! I scooped the little guy up into my arms and held him ever so tightly as I tried to sooth his cries. After he was able to calm down a bit, I checked him for bumps and bruises, and he seemed fine. I spent a good part of my morning researching crib tents and chiropractors for children. I was able to take Isaiah in to see a chiropractor today to have him examined and adjusted if need be. The doctor said he seemed fine and adjusted him ever so slightly to rebalance him. I am just relieved that he is okay. He is pretty much walking around full-time now, and with that, he is doing a lot of falling. He reverts back to crawling every now and then, but for the most part, like I said, he is just walking all over the place. It's exciting to experience your child transition into different stages of life. It can be a little scary at times, but it's so worth it. I'm getting more and more excited with each passing day at the thought of little Arielle joining us soon!
After getting some business taken care of today, visiting with the doctor, and buying a crib tent at Baby's-R-Us, we came back home, put Isaiah down for his nap, and ordered a huge pineapple pizza. Mm! My favorite. I'm not kidding when I say this pizza was huge. I definitely over ate to the point where I was uncomfortably full. That's not a fun thing when you're pregnant, by the way, 8 months pregnant no less.
Well, I'm beat. I'll be posting some photos of Eshani & Ryan's wedding soon.

Carly & Ivan's Wedding

From my previous blog, I mentioned a little about doing a Fantasy Wedding shoot at the Neon Boneyard for one of my couples. I was so excited to post a gallery with some photos from the shoot that I didn't even post any from their wedding. So, that's what this blog is for. Carly and Ivan were married at the beautiful Red Rock Spa and Resort here in las Vegas. It was an absolutely gorgeous ceremony at sunset overlooking the beautiful mountains and the resort's amazing pool. Carly and Ivan are such a fun couple with extraordinary lives. I wish the two of them all of the best in their marraige and their careers as trapeze artists!
